Man arrested after failing to show receipt/ID at Circuit City

Filed under: politics, random, people suck — IT Master Gordo at 11:17 pm on Thursday, September 6, 2007

I’ve been waiting for something like this to happen for quite some time.  While Mr Righi may haven handled the situation like an ass, at this point it appears like all of his actions were legal.

 Now I realize  with the current political atmosphere showing a receipt at a retail outlet is not exactly high on my list of endangered civil rights, however, I’m starting to get tired or certain big box retailers treating their honest customers like common criminals.

Here’s some random crap I found while browsing CNN.com, still my favorite news site for no other reasons than the clean layout and Ted Turner’s politics:

That’s one way to handle it.

History has taught us that it takes at least 10 goofy bastards to stage a successful coup.

Crazy white man at Roger Williams uses the N-word and explains thus: “I apologized for that. What else can I do? Kill myself?” Is that an offer? At least he’s being magnanimous about the whole thing…

All this world needs is more apologies. I hate unnecessary apologies. I make people apologize for them.

Speaking as a moral relativist, you’re boring the fuck out of me. Obama did coke and pot back in the day, and he acts like it wasn’t a big deal, because it wasn’t a big deal. That says more about his morals than any of Edwards’s bland bullshit.

Best places to live? Or do you mean best places to avoid being near poor people? The list should go like so: 1) New York City 2) Portland, Oregon 3) Other big cities 4) Medium cities 5) Crappy suburbs 6) Rural communities 7) Money’s list… inverted.

When all is said and done, this guy will end up with the best nickname ever. My first thought was Toothface, but that sounds too much like a Batman villain.

I smell the end of the GOP.

I always thought he choked on his own ego… or his own dick.

Faith restored.

Powerful people doing the opposite of what they should be doing

Hey, dickcheeks: Could you at least pretend that you’ve read the Constitution for a change? If you don’t want to read the whole thing, here is an excerpt that lists some powers given to the legislative thingie. If you don’t feel like reading the excerpt, let me tell you that they should be telling you to fuck off.

“To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water;

“To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years;

“To provide and maintain a navy;

“To make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces;

“To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions;”

“To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in the service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress.”

Edit: You know that adorable catch phrase “cut and run” that Bush started throwing around when anti-war folk started getting really noisy? Yeah, the one he used as an insult, like he was describing something only the most anti-American America-haters would think of doing. Whatever. Cut and run. Please. Cut, then run. Cut. Run. 1) Cut 2) Run.

Who made this guy a judge?

Abridged version:

1) Woman is allegedly raped.
2) Judge bars all parties from using words “rape,” “victim,” “assailant,” and “sexual-assault kit” during trial.
3) Woman and victims’ rights groups protest.
4) Judge declares mistrial.
5) Judge blames woman for mistrial.
6) Judge implicitly promotes rape.

One more quickie: Fight them there so that we won’t have to fight them here, eh? Not a bad idea, but it helps if you get the “there” part right.
